Ruth V. Bicky Winsted, 96, of Columbia City, passed away at 1:50 a.m. Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Millers at Oak Pointe. Born March 25, 1921 in Plainfield, she was the daughter of Frank and Eunice (Tomlinson) Calbert.
She graduated Plainfield High School with the Class of 1939. In 1943, she married Charles O. Toby Winsted. She had worked at the Indiana Youth Center in Plainfield for over 20 years and retired in 1985 as a Personnel Clerk. After Charles passed in October of 1985 she remained in Plainfield before moving up to Columbia City 10 years ago. She had been a faithful member of Plainfield Friends Meeting. Bicky and Charles enjoyed dancing at the Elks and found enjoyment when she bowled, played Bridge and bingo.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon (Ed) Hollenbaugh, of Columbia City; son, Gerald Winsted, of Painfield; grandchildren, Mark (Angela) Hollenbaugh, Brian (Jody) Hollenbaugh; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation is 5 to 6:45 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will begin at 7p.m. with Pastor Art Herrick officiating. Entombment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
