Sarah Jane Creason, age 82, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 6:50 pm on Wednesday October 9, 2024, at her residence. Born on December 18, 1941, in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Marion and Ethel (Ernest) Harris.

Sarah attended Elmhurst High School and graduated with the Class of 1959. Sarah then attended Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky. On February 14, 1971, Sarah married Clifford G. Creason at First Baptist Church, Fort Wayne.

Sarah worked for the Federal Housing Authority and was recognized by the Rural Rental Housing Association of Indiana.

Sarah had a passion for art and was a member of Orchard Gallery of Fine Art in Fort Wayne. Sarah also owned an art studio, Fish Tail Studio, where she enjoyed sharing her gift of art with others.

Survivors include her husband Clifford Creason of Columbia City; children Beth Chapman, Deb (Jeff) Dammeier, and Michael (Shirley) Creason, all of Fort Wayne; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; siblings Sandra (Leon) Kowalenko of Fort Wayne, Mike (Sue Sheets) Harris of LaOtto, and Constance (Benjamin) Lew of Houston, Texas.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Candace Creason, and brother David Harris.

A memorial service for Sarah will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday October 18, 2024, at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with calling two hours prior to service.

Burial in St. Matthew’s Cemetery, Columbia City.

Memorial contributions in memory of Sarah may be made to St Matthew’s Community Church, Columbia City.
