Columbia City

Sharon Ann Julian, 78, of South Whitley, Indiana passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, at The Waters of Columbia City.  Born September 10, 1945, in Wolf Lake, Indiana she was a daughter of the late Merl and Mary (Davis) Hyndman.

She graduated from Larwill High School with the Class of 1963.  On March 15, 1964, she married Curtis Hontz and on October 30, 1983, she married Charles Julian. Sharon worked for Blue Bell and then Dana (Weatherhead), the company then changed its name to C.F. Gomma.  She retired in 1997 from C.F. Gomma.  During this time, she also worked at the Post and Mail delivering newspapers.  Sharon also worked at Lassus after retirement.  She was a member of Oak Grove Church of God.

Sharon loved to tell everyone what to do, making her everyone's mom and grandma.  She also loved to sew, read, and spending time with her grandchildren.  Her favorite pass time was people watching.  Sharon had a few favorite inspirational saying on her refrigerator that she loved to read every day.  "In happy moments praise God.  In difficult moments seek God.  In quiet moments trust God.  In every moment thank God!"  Not once does the bible say, "Worry about it, stress over it, or figure it out."  But over and over it clearly says, "Trust God".  God has a purpose for your pain and reason for your struggle, and a reward for your faithfulness.  Don't give up."

Sharon is survived by her children, Kurtis (Laura) Hontz, Anne Hontz, Janet (Nathan) Cramer; adopted children, Wendy (Phillip) Ressler, Willie Platt, Wade Starkey; stepchildren, David Julian, Jody Julian, Donna Julian; 28 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; siblings, Clarence "Clancy" (Hope) Hyndman, Stella (Jay) Woods. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis Hontz; second husband, Charles Julian; siblings, Thomas Hyndman and Wanda White; great-granddaughter, Arianna Hontz; sister-in-law, Kathy Hyndman.
