Sherrill D. Boggs

Sherrill D. Boggs, 87, of Columbia City, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Miller's at Oak Pointe. Born August 2, 1936 in Whitley County, she was the daughter of Robert Allen and Mildred (Tschantz) Slater.

She attended Columbia City High School, IPFW and St. Francis College in Fort Wayne. On November 1, 1952, she married Frank D. Boggs in Warsaw. They lived on the family farm in rural Whitley County. Sherrill had owned Anything Groes Flower Shop in Columbia City. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for several years. She also had been a Girl Scout Leader.

Sherrill is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Mike) Reed and Wendy Miller; granddaughters, Correne (Gannon) Ramy, Angela (Rob) Dillon, Holly (Nick Kitsos) Miller and Robin Reed; great-grandchildren, Lake, E.J., Kale, Kela, Norah and Ellora. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 62 years, Frank Boggs on December 13, 2014; son-in-law, Ed Miller; brother, Larry Allen; and sisters, Janet Shoemaker and Cozetta Dinius.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Thursday, December 7, 2023 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with visitation beginning at 11 am. Chaplin Michael Deter will be officiating. A private burial will take place at Greenhill Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
