Star LePrie, 48, of Kimmell, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born October 19, 1972 in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Paul Trout and Alice (Scott) Nicolet.
Star attended Northrop High School in Fort Wayne. On June 15, 1993, she married Edmund LePrie. Star had worked for Aimes Department Store, PTG and was an aid with Help at Home. Amongst all her jobs, being a great mother is what she was most proud of. Star never met a stranger, was charismatic, giving and would drop everything to help anyone out in need. She loved listening to music, going to concerts and being in a big crowd with her friends or sitting by a bonfire with them.
Star is survived by her husband, Ed LePrie; son, Jesse James LePrie; daughter, Hanna Star LePrie; father, Paul Trout; mother, Alice (David) Nicolet; sister, Dawn (Mark) Neal; brother, Pastor Scott (Debbi) Trout and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Jonita Trout; and an infant brother, Ricky L. Trout.
Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Face masks are required for attendance. Due to the current Covid Restrictions, there will be a private service for the immediate family but it may be watched live on Facebook through DeMoney Grimes Live at 10 a.m., Tuesday. Burial will take place at Union Township Cemetery where she will be laid to rest near her brother. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in her memory toward her final expenses, I.C.O.
