Steven R. Baxter

Steven R. Baxter, age 63, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 12:38 pm on Sunday November 18, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born on November 30, 1954 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he was the son of Raymond B. and Marilyn J. (Miller) Baxter.

Steven attended local schools and graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1972. Steven owned and operated Baxter Home Building locally for many years and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, and especially playing golf anywhere he could find a course.

Survivors include his daughters, Heather (Jason) Lear of McCordsville, Marilyn (Tyler) Nielson of Menan, Idaho, and Stephanie (Christopher) Cripe of Pierceton; 7 grandchildren Jaxon, Ethan, Levi, Eva, Addi, Carter, and Claire; sisters Julie Mangan of Warsaw, Cate Baxter of Laguna Niguel, California, and Vicky (James) Borders of Columbia City. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Marilyn Baxter.

Funeral services for Steven will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday November 23, 2018 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3085 East Lincolnway, Columbia City, with calling three hours prior to service.
