STEVEN CAMPBELL

December 16, 1943 — January 6, 2014

Steve Campbell, 70, of Columbia City, IN went home to be with his Heavenly Father, Monday, January 6, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital. Born on December 16, 1943 in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Ernest Campbell and Dorothy (Kring) Mosel.

He attended South Side High School and received his Associate Degree from Ivy Tech.On August 25, 1962 Steve married Sydney Schinbeckler. He lived in Ft. Wayne before building the family's home in Columbia City in 1986. Steve retired as a CAD Designer with the Dana Corp in Ft. Wayne. He attended worship at A New and Living Way Ministries in Garrett, IN and was active in his home Bible group.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sydney Campbell; children, Stephanie (Jessie) Jenkins of Roanoke, Christopher Sean Campbell of Seattle, WA and Aaron Campbell of Ft. Wayne; sister, Linda (Barry) Lloyd of Cross view, TN; brother, Michael (Sandy) Campbell of Manistee, MI; grandchildren, Jessica (Steve) Davis of Australia, Justin (Jessica) Jenkins of Indianapolis, Jordan and Jacob Jenkins both of Roanoke; and a great-granddaughter on the way. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Steve's greatest delight was to spend time with his family at the MI cabin. Summers, walking the Lake Michigan shore, Fall, enjoying the vibrant colors, and the New Year's Holiday in the snow. He enjoyed several Summers boating on Lake Erie. His favorite trips included Hawaii, Alaska, Yellowstone, and The Grand Canyon. Since retiring he spent summers with family on Lake Wawasee. His main focus in life was to study himself approved unto God, a workman that has nothing to be ashamed of, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. 11Tim. 2:15.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.Funeral services will follow. Rev. Curt Johnson officiating. Memorial gifts may be given in Steves memory to the local Interfaith Mission, Inc.
