THERESA CARMILLA MILLER

August 26, 1923 — December 13, 2007

Theresa Carmilla Miller, age 84, of Columbia City, IN died at 10:45 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Millers Merry Manor, Columbia City. Born on August 26,1923 in Pottsville, PA, she was the daughter of Rocco and Mary (Giongrosso) Ferraro.

She attended St. Joseph Parish School, South Bend, IN. On May 11, 1946, she was united in marriage to Bernard Miller in South Bend, IN. A resident of Whitley County, IN since 1946, she was a housewife. She was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church and a former member of the Rosary Society, Girl Scout Leader and Sunday School Teacher. Her hobbies included cake decorating, reading, crocheting, playing cards, drawing, cooking, and crossword puzzles, but she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include son, Edward G. (Wendy) Miller of Columbia City, IN; daughters, Becky Ward of Fort Wayne, IN; Kathy (Mike) McManama of Decatur, IN; Mary (Lee) Neher of Columbia City, IN; daughter-in-law, Mary Kim Miller of Columbia City, IN; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews; sisters, Martha Smith of Banning, CA; Rose Marie (Tom) Owsianowski of South Bend, IN; sister-in-law, Goldie Ferraro of South Bend, IN; brother, James Jay (Joan) Ferraro of The Villages, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Mike Miller, brother, Pat Ferraro, sister, Catherine Long and granddaughter, Julia Christine Miller.

Visitation is 2-4 6-8 p.m. with a prayer vigil service at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Due to the snow storm on Sunday, Funeral Mass is 2 p.m. with 1 hour of calling prior to service on Monday, December 17, 2007 at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 S Line Street, Columbia City, IN with Father Larry Kramer officiating. Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Miller to St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church Building Fund, Turnstone, Community Action of Northeast Indiana, or the Alzheimers Association.
