Tony L. Angel, 60, of Columbia City, passed away at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. Born April 11, 1957 in Columbia City, he was the son of Arley V. Angel and Shirley A. (Rosen) Angel Bradley.
Growing up, he enjoyed shooting his bow and arrow, playing baseball and hunting and trapping. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1975 and went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps. He had worked at various locations including Fruehauf in Ft. Wayne and Paragon in Pierceton being a welder or tool and die maker. Tony had been a member of the American Legion, Post 258 in Pierceton. In his free time he watched NASCAR, golfing with friends, riding around in his cars or on his motorcycles, and traveling down to Nashville to listen to the country music.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Shirley and James Bradley, of Columbia City; sister, Pam Listenberger, of Ft. Wayne; and two nieces, Kayla and Kelsy Listenberger. He was preceded in death by his father, Arley and sister, Karen Behm.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Johnson of Oak Grove Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove (Compton) Cemetery.
