Velda M. Winebrenner, 89, of rural Albion, Noble County, IN passed away at her residence on Friday, November 23, 2007 at 5:05 p.m. She had been in failing health for the past few months. She was born in Green Center, IN on June 14, 1918 to William Oren and Iva Annis (Johnson) Leitch.
She has spent her lifetime in Noble County and graduated from Albion High School with the Class of 1936. She was married to Robert Ross Mike Winebrenner in Plymouth, IN on April 17, 1938. She was employed as a clerk at the Burr Oak Store and then was a seamstress at the Blue Bell Company, Columbia City. She was a former member of Green Center United Methodist Church and for the past 15-20 years she has been a member of the Charter Oak Church, Churubusco, IN. She was an avid gardener and loved to be with her family on their family farm.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Robert Ross Mike Winebrenner, Albion, IN; 1 son, Oran J. (Carol L.) Winebrenner, Fort Wayne, IN; 1 sister, Donabelle Frazier, Fort Wayne, IN; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 step great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Roberta Ott who passed away in 2005 and 3 sisters, Eileen Breinfalk, Lois Horsewood and Freda Leitch.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, November 26, 2007 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the funeral home with Pastor Aaron Peer of the Charter Oak Church, Churubusco, officiating.
