VIRGINIA L. LUSK-BAUMGARTNER

June 1, 1916 — December 31, 2011

Virginia L. Lusk-Baumgartner, age 95, formerly of Columbia City and currently of Fort Wayne, passed away at 7:47 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Covington Commons, Fort Wayne, IN. Born June 1, 1916 in Fort Wayne, IN she was the daughter of Sylvester and Elsie (Ferguson) Coleman.

She spent her childhood in Fort Wayne and graduated from Elmhurst High School with the Class of 1934. In 1947, she moved to Whitley County, moving to Tri-Lakes in 1965. In 2001, she moved to her present address at Covington Commons in Fort Wayne. In June, 1934, her first marriage was to Thurman T. Lusk.They were married for 47 years before he passed away in October, 1981.In May, 1985 her second marriage was to Dale Baumgartner and he passed away in March, 1999.

After 35 years of service, she retired in 1978 as a documentary secretary for the former Magnavox Company, Fort Wayne.She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #1906 since 1977; Woman of the Moose Post #1063 Auxiliary since 1970; and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #98 all of Columbia City.A life member of the Fort Wayne Musician's Union #58, as a Professional Organist, she also was a member of the Magnavox Quarter Century Club.

Survivors include her nieces, Kathy Klinger and Terri Hughes both of Fort Wayne; several other nieces and nephews; great-nephews and nieces and 1 brother in law, Jack Hughes, Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Thurman T. Lusk, second husband, Dale Baumgartner, sisters, Eloise Hughes and Faith Newburn, brothers, Laurence and James A. Coleman.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 1-2 p.m. with funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.Memorial gifts may be given in Mrs. Lusk-Baumgartner's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
