Wilhelmina S. Minnie Doehrman, 93, of Columbia City, IN died Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Parkview Main Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born on June 7, 1914 in Westphalia, Germany she was the daughter of William and Sophie (Nahrwold) Hitzemann.
She immigrated to the United States on September 16, 1926 and attended school in the Lutheran School System. On December 11, 1937 she was united in marriage to Adolph Doehrman at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Haven, IN. She was a homemaker and mother and member of both Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Haven as well as Zion Lutheran Church in Columbia City. She lived in New Haven until 1971 when she moved with her family to rural Columbia City, IN.
Survivors include a son, Ervin F. (Verna) Doehrman of Columbia City, IN; daughter, Carolyn A. Tudor of Fredonia, AZ; 3 grandchildren, Rachel and Jason Doehrman of Columbia City, IN and Mark (Joyce) Tudor of San Diego, CA and brother, Fred W. (Florence) Hitzemann, New Haven, IN. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, William and Henry Hitzemann and 2 sisters, Louise Rohrer and Erna Hitzemann.
Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2008 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive Columbia City, IN. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the funeral home with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Pastor Ted Taykowski of Zion Lutheran Church, Columbia City will officiate. Burial to follow at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, New Haven, IN. Memorial bequests may be given in Mrs. Doehrmans memory to Worship for Shut-Ins or Zion Lutheran Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
