William F. Vandersaul, age 79, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 11:47 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Parkview Main Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born on October 7, 1928 in Fort Wayne, Allen County, IN, he was the son of Maurice and Lovica (Keirn) Vandersaul.
A lifetime Whitley County resident, he graduated from Larwill High School with the Class of 1946. On May 7, 1988, he married Lydia M. Padgett in Fort Wayne, IN. For 20 years, he worked for Columbia Dairy and for 5 years he was employed by Columbia City Freight Lines as a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Lydia M. Vandersaul of Columbia City IN; sister, Phyllis Vandersaul of Columbia City; brothers-in- law, Lyle Kelsy of Incline, NV and Harold Fenker of Columbia City; sister-in-law, Mary Baumann of Kokomo, IN; 6 nieces and 4 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Ethel Vandersaul, infant sister, Mary Alice Vandersaul.
Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2007 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral service is 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 31, 2007 at the funeral home with Reverend Curtiss Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove (Compton) Cemetery, Columbia City, IN. Memorials may be given in memory of Mr. Vandersaul to the donors choice of charity. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
