William R. Bill Whittenberger, age 69, of Fort Wayne,IN passed away at 6:07a.m. on Friday December 5, 2014, at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.Born on September 3, 1945 in Columbia City, IN he was the son of Arthur Leroy and Florence Marie Dorothy (Kerch) Whittenberger.
He attended Arcola schools and graduated from Arcola High School with the Class of 1963. Most of Bills working career was spent in various jobs that ended in troubleshooting after working his way up the ranks at International Harvester in Fort Wayne. Troubleshooting was also a hobby for Bill, being the Mr. Fix it that he was. Other hobbies include motorcycle riding, riding his jet ski, sailboating, and watching NASCAR and sprint car races.Bill was always a real dare devil.
Survivors include his son Billy Whittenberger of Fort Wayne; daughter Angela (Anthony) Donato of Melbourne, FL; 3 grandchildren Abby, Adam, and Alex; brother John (Helen) Arthur of Fort Wayne; aunt Wilma Miller of Columbia City; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Bill was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Florence Whittenberger; grandparents John and Emma Kerch; uncles Amos Miller and Lloyd Kerch; and aunt Frances Beerwert.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 10, 2014 from 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN.Funeral services for Bill will follow at 12:00p.m. at the funeral home with Certified Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus officiating.Burial will then follow in Eberhard Cemetery, Columbia City.
