Wilma Vacie (Rutherford) Rodocker-Schamerloh, age 85, of Columbia City, IN passed away from a stroke at 5:35 a.m. Sunday, July 6, 2008. Born on September 9, 1922 in Huntington County, IN, she was the daughter of William Henry Rutherford and Mary Forney (Pugh) Rutherford.She attended Spencerville High School, Spencerville, IN. She spent her lifetime in Huntington and DeKalb Counties, Hicksville, OH, Fort Wayne, IN and the past 5 years at Miller's Merry Manor in Columbia City, IN. She was a seamstress and drapery maker. She volunteered at the Allen County Public Library in the Genealogy Department.Survivors include her son, Robert C. (Nina) Rodocker of Columbia City; daughter, Carma J. Lucatero of Denver, CO; sisters, Nona R. (Harold) Harris of Huntington, IN and Lou Ann Brown of Richmond, VA; brother, Thomas N. (LuAnn) Rutherford of New Haven, IN; 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William Rodocker and Arthur Schamerloh, sister, Lois F. Fisher and brother, William H. Rutherford.A graveside service is at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Decatur Cemetery, Decatur, IN with Reverend Michael Courtney officiating. Memorial bequests may be given to Gideon's International or Lighthouse Free Methodist Building Fund.
