Zelma Mae Watson, 79, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at her home. Born November 12, 1942 in Plymouth, she was the daughter of Claude E. Wyman and Hazel (Bules) Pascoff.
Zelma grew up in Marshall County near Plymouth and Argos and attended Pierceton High School. She also lived in Texas, Colorado and Michigan before moving to Fort Wayne in 1960. On January 11 1960, Zelma married Larry Watson. She had worked for Burger King and Hot & Now in New Haven but mostly was a housewife, mother, and childcare giver for many children in her home. Zelma was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Allen County.
Zelma loved her family, her grandchildren were her pride and joy and was a strong and feisty lady. She enjoyed bingo, horse, going to garage sales and eating at Richards. When her children were growing up, she took them on the weekends to go skating and being an avid baseball fan, Zelma taught them plus her grandchildren how to play ball.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Larry Watson; daughters, Belinda Campbell and Tina Watson; daughter-in-law, Cathy Watson; granddaughter Mandi Hart; grandsons, Bobby Schnelker and Robert Hart and great-granddaughters, Aaleyah and Hailey and was expecting a third great-grandchild. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Todd Watson; brothers, Fred Wyman and Robert Wyman; sisters, Linda Banacheck and Beverly Hively; and step-brother, Dewey Pascoff.
Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, October 1, 2022 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with visitation starting at 10 am. Burial will take place at Nolt Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in memory to the family towards medical care.
